Autocar - First for car news and reviews

Had a new 1 series BMW, in white, in July this year. To date 4 pigeonshave hit my windscreen, never had this before.

 Can't they see white or is my 120d silent on approach?

Perhaps they were startled by the 'challenging' looks of your new car? ;-)

Take it your not a fan of the BMW 1 series fan then, but its much better tax wise than a 2.4 Audi Cabriolet on the company car scales,the pigeons certainly get out of the way of my white TVR, but I suppose they can hear that rumbling as we get near or maybe being lower thay have time to get out of the way?

The 1 series has really grown on me - I used to hate it when it was launched, but it has to be said, on 18" wheels in white with MSport trim it looks the business. Almost singlehandedly started the whole 'white' thing again.

 Despite owning one, there's so many things that crank me up about BMW but they do have an irritating habit of producing the goods.

I'll let you know if I get an increase in Pigeon poo when I get my new car...

Sense of humour failure much? Not sure what the relevance of the Audi cabriolet is though...

I think the 1-series has a lot going for it (for two people at the most), shame it's quite so portly. A lightweight version of the 2-door with a high-revving 4-pot petrol engine would be great. 5-door diesel in grey, couldn't care less. White 3-door with big wheels works though.

Not sure how light the Z4 is, but the 2.0 litre version works a treat in the Z4. 

The 1 series is fat fat fat! it's about the same weight as the e46 3 series!

 biggest disappointment when I got mine was just how heavy it is for a small car

Sorry. Possibly did not explain myself well enough, when I sat hit the windscreen I mean physically hit. I have killed four in three months! They just don’t seem to be able to fly out of the way.

So it's true what Bill Oddie told me about even pigeons not liking BMW 1 series then.  Maybe they had already exhausted their poop supplies on other BMW's and had no other option than to go Kama Kaze.

We have no such problems on the Enterprise and that is white.
