Reasonable all rounder, reasonable engine, just not the most inspiring vehicle on the planet.

What else would you like to know?

Had one on hire for a couple of weeks a while back, and thought it a very good car.  Nothing remarkable, but comfortable and easy to drive.  Not sure what long term ownership would bring, but it seemed reasonably efficient and useable for a family car.

  • Can anyone see my reply? It's coming up blank even though I have posted a message?

  • The question was: Is it worth buying this 307 HDi DTurbo Model 2.0, with all the usual refinements (17" Alloys (Peugeot) A/C, Cruise Control, Leather) for £4200, 60,000 Miles, Full Service History...

Unfortunately, you haven't said if this is a 90 or 110bhp model and the age of the car.

Certainly looking around, this sort of money is the going price for a 2003 or 2004, 110bhp model.  If it's any older than that, or its a 90bhp car, then the price could be on the steep side.

It's a buyers market out there at the moment, so even if that is the advertised price push a little harder.  I recon you could get it for £4000.

Let us know how you get on.  Best of luck.

Try typing in the main "Message" box, not the "Subject" box and you may have better luck with your posts.

As I haven't seen the car the majority of this is guess work.  There are other factors to take in to account and many bargaining points, so what I am saying here is a generalisation.

If it is a 2002 model then you would it would need to be exceptional condition with a dealer warantee and a tank of fuel thrown in to be £4200.  I would seriously suggest pushing for a considerable discount at this level and not paying any more than £4000.

If it is a private sale, with no warantee and in less than perfect condition then you should be looking at starting in the region of £3500.

  • I have tried typing in the boxes, but when I type in the normal box it just posts a blank message! :( I have emailed admin about this. I use a lot of forums and have never had a problem like this.

Not a bad car, and the prices being mentioned in earlier posts seem about right, but they do suffer from irritating reliability problems.  The usual dodgy electrics, and faulty air-con seem to crop up frequently.  Early ones also suffered with faulty door handles.  I'd certainly ensure everything works before I parted with any money, and a warranty could be handy.

My parents took the plunge and got the SW version, they thinks its great.

Worth checking the warranty and what it covers i.e. parts and labour, as my experience with French cars (admittedly Renault's) has not been good. Ask yourself this question, 'why do Citroen sell at greatly reduced prices'? the thing is they are built to a cost that allows them to do so. Don't forget many of the parts found on Peugeot's are the same as those found on Citroen's.

Caeser ruled with an iron hand, then with a wooden foot and finally with a piece of string.
