    What is it?

The entry-level Scirocco. Despite its diminuitive capacity, the 1.4-litre engine comes with Volkswagen’s ‘Twincharger’ system, meaning it boasts both a supercharged and a turbocharger, meaning it’s power figures aren’t far off those delivered by the 2.0-litre version. 158bhp (and 177lb ft of torque) are respectable enough, and equate to an 8.0sec 0-62mph time – just 0.8 seconds slower than Read the full article

Ahhh, the good old less is more tale.

Smaller wheels, cheaper running costs and a whole lot more entertaining to boot!

When will manufacturers realise that the marketing departments aren't always right.

The VW Golf sector model range is so diverse now that it is just funny:

Golf - tried and tested, if looking a little tired

Golf Plus - Golf for tall people, or something

    Touran - Golf for families

Golf Estate - Touran for frumpy folk

Scirocco - flattened Golf masquerading as coupe

Tiguan - Golf for people who wouldn't be seen dead driving a Golf

    I agree with Robotboogie

I have a mk 5 Gti, love it, but have to say, the whole VW range is a bit stale, im due a new car this october, and to be honest the scirocco isnt really lighting my fire like the Gti did 3 years ago, the interior of the scirocco is downright bland!, a sea of tutonic grey, dont they employ designers?

Would have to get one in viper green just to stay awake, think i'l plonk for a T5 instead.

    Haha, superb

Lots of written-on-the-morning-of-the-deadline errors in the article such as "both a supercharged and a turbocharger" and "it’s" in place of "its". Come on guys, you're writing for a magazine, not a school blog.

The piece finishes by stating that the Scirocco feels "special and sensible enough to justify its price tag", yet nobody knows what it costs. It just says TBA.

    I feel less than illuminated.

Eos - sorry, really struggling to say anything interesting about the Eos. And I'm not the first.

I still don't get it. By what definition is this a coupe? Oh, okay, it SORT of looks like one from the 3/4 low down angle if you squint and there's an R in the month and a full moon and you are wearing rose-tinted spectacles....

It also doesn't really retain any visual links to the original 'roccos, of which I have been a proud owner (of two Mk IIs, though admittedly it was always debatable about that model being a coupe.)

Having said all that... yes please, I'll have a 1.4 when they come out, in Viper Green if you don't mind. Ta.

It seems totally illogical to pay more for less

a car with 2 doors that costs more than one with five. How is this possible?
