BMW's big coupé is technically strong, broadly talented and somewhat easier on the eye than many Bangle designs. But it lacks the X factor, often seeming less than the sum of its parts. The cooking models are comfortably eclipsed by the new Jag XK. The only genuine star in the range is the astonishing M6.
